The Prime Minister took notice of the multi-crore monthly scam in the payment of street lights bills in Islamabad and ordered an inquiry.
According to the report, there are about 40,000 street lights in the federal capital Islamabad, out of which only 5 to 10 percent of street lights were on at night, while the street lights from the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) claimed to have submitted a bill of about Rs 100 million per month for street lights.
When Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the matter and inquired into the matter, it was found that most of the street lights in the city were not metered. The Prime Minister ordered immediate activation of street lights, after which 35% of the street lights are now working. ۔
The Prime Minister has ordered to activate the remaining street lights in two months, and also ordered an inquiry into the submission of a monthly bill of Rs. 100 million for street lights.
