According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Chairman Board Ehsan Mani met Azhar Ali on Tuesday evening and thanked him for his services as captain.

During the meeting, Babar Azam has been appointed captain of the national Test cricket team in place of Azhar Ali, after which he will now lead the national cricket team in all three formats.

According to the PCB, Babar Azam’s first assignment as Test captain will be to lead the team in a two-Test series against New Zealand in the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship.

Following the decision, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani contacted Babar Azam and congratulated him on his appointment.

In this regard, Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani said that Azhar Ali also has knowledge of cricket and he is a top-order batsman, he still has a lot of cricket left and he is sure that Pakistan can benefit a lot from his experience.

Referring to Babar Azam, Ehsan Mani said that the future captain of Babar Azam was identified at an early age. Consistently, Babar proved on the basis of performance and leadership abilities that he has additional responsibilities of a captain. Ready to handle.

It may be recalled that the PCB cricket committee had recently proposed Babar Azam, captain of the national T20 and ODI teams, to be the captain of the Test team as well.
