The united kingdom based firm Broadsheet uncovered massive scale corruption and money laundering of the ruling elite once again. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that they were just the tip of the iceberg.
In a series of tweets earlier Imran Khan said that the same people have earlier been exposed by Panama Papers and that these elites cannot hide behind the “victimization” cards on international revelations.
He further said that whatever he claimed in his 24-year political journey came out to be true as a consequence of the revelations. According to him, these people become a part of a ruling class only to ransack the country. They do money laundering to stockpile their earnings abroad. Then they use their political leverage to attain NRO’s. He claimed that the only reason for the destruction of the country is corruption by the ruling class.
He accused the elites of stealing the nation’s money and that the taxes are wasted due to NRO’s. He said that he expects complete transparency from Broadsheet.
A day earlier, an inter-ministerial committee was formed after Broadsheet LLC’s Kaveh Moussavi claimed that their firm was influenced by former Premier Nawaz Sharif and they had evidence of corruption against some Pakistanis.
Imran Khan discussed the issue in “zero hour” in the presence of cabinet members after a discussion on the agenda.
Information minister Shibli Faraz said that the inter-ministerial committee will investigate the individuals whose details are mentioned in Broadsheet adding that Imran Khan has decided to make the names public after a thorough exploration of the available content.
