On World Sleep Day, Hastens, a Swedish luxury bedmaker, announced the launch of its new ‘Grand Vividus’ bed in Dubai.
The bed, which was designed by famous Canadian designer Ferris Rafauli, took two years to complete. You may have to wait four to six months for your turn if you want one. You’ll probably need $400,000 in your bank account.
The bed is made of top-of-the-line wool, cotton, and horsehair and is available in black and navy blue. The bed and mattress are completely handcrafted and are expected to last at least half a century.
The mattress’s top layer is covered in a checkered pattern made of woven cotton cloth that features Hastens’ iconic horse emblem. Leather corners, golden brass studs, and a gold nameplate adorn the luggage-style base. Gold embroidery can also be found on the mattress, with the words “Grand Vividus” in one place and “Life Well Lived” in another.
We would say our lives were well lived if we had $400,000 to spend on a bed.
