Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in a press conference that nine out of 10 parties in the alliance were in favor of resigning from the National and provincial assemblies along with the long march.

However, the PPP had reservations on the idea, he said. "PPP has asked for time to approach its Central Executive Committee (CEC). Therefore, we have given them time and we will await their decision."

Until the time that the PPP informed the PDM about its decision, the long march would be postponed, he added.

Rehman quickly left the press conference after the announcement without taking any questions despite Maryam Nawaz calling out to him to stay on for reporters’ questions.
