Rare white lion died in Karachi zoo. Where are the animals rights?

We all know that zoo animals are not being treated the way they should be. Every day, many of them lost their lives because of carelessness and not proper attention given to them by the management. The management must treat the animals with great care.

A similar heart-melting incident took has taken place in the Karachi zoo. According to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) spokesperson Ali Hassan Sajid, a rare white lion died in Karachi Zoo on Wednesday after its lungs stopped working due to pneumonia.

According to the details, the rare white lion was ill for the past 13 days and was suffering from Pulmonary TB which was being treated by veterinarians. Spokesperson told,

“He could not recover and died due to his illness at 11 am today”.

Moreover, the age of the lion was between 13 and 14 years. It was brought to Karachi Zoo from Africa back in 2012.

This news has saddened the people and their hearts sank over this. Many people are blaming the management for not properly caring for such a rare animal and paying no attention at all.

The director of the zoo has also been removed from his position after the news went viral on social media. Furthermore, Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab took the notice of the incident and said,

“Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the zoo management if any negligence is found after the cause of death of the lion has come to light.”
