Youth anxiety and depression are at recorded levels.How to cope with it?

DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, STRESS !!!
These are the words that we confront daily but don’t pay heed towards them.

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act.It is more than a feeling of sadness.We all go through the spells of feeling down for days, weeks and even months.We think that it will go on its own and avoid taking medication.I think that’s the biggest mistake we youth make.

We don’t fake depression,we fake being OKAY.

It is a genuine health issue and we don’t take it seriously.DEPRESSION is the real illness. In fact it promotes other health issues.The COVID pandemic has shone a light on the ongoing decline in young people’s mental health.
Among the major health issues these days. MENTAL HEALTH is the foremost.In which work stress, study stress, family stress are top of the list.

Globally, more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression-according to WHO.

Western countries have proper mental health hubs to keep check on youth behaviour.Youth mental health hubs provide mental health and social services in one location.

Since the lockdown a total of 29 suicide cases were reported in Pakistan due to depression. According to The News.

THE QUESTION IS HOW TO DEAL WITH IT?

By following some tips we can create a positive change within us and among the society.
1)Positive Thought:
A Positive life starts with a positive attitude.Start your day with a positive thought.Hoping that one day we’ll come back to our routine lives.

2)Healthy Routine:
Take a bath, drinking a cup of tea, taking a nap, or practicing deep breathing for 5 minutes.

3)Proper Diet:
Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals.Try to eat meals rich in vitamins and minerals because it boosts our mental health.

4)Stay Active:
Exercise regularly.Get plenty of sleep.Average 8 hours.It helps you to get rid of negative ideas.

5) Social connections:
Avoid negative people around you. Try to get in touch with relatives and friends through audio and video calls.

6)Be Mindful:
An empty mind is a devil’s workshop.Try to indulge yourself in various activities. Take online courses and try to keep your mind busy.
